English Bulldog on the Fourth of July, Paws of Patriotism

dozerwagon001Dozer, the famous English Bulldog in his Radio Flyer wagon, waiting to go down town to enter the Fourth of July parade.  His float, which is a custom built red wagon ornamented with authentic Mac truck bulldog emblems, a vanity license plate and a fire hydrant trailer hitch for those quick pit stops.

He loves being pulled around in his wagon under the shade of his own personal canopy.  When the the wooden sides are up he whimpers to get in just because he always thinks it’s time to go somewhere.

On the Fourth of July his people bring him in front of the crowd as he is pulled along in the town parade.  His wagon, which gets decorated with several American flags, is appropriately called “Paws of Patriotism” and earned him a second place prize in the Animal category and a photo in the local newspaper.  Like many floats who toss out candy to children, Dozer has a stash of cookie treats for all his fellow canine parade watchers waving, or woofing, along the roadside.

Even if he’s not going to be in a Parade or going for a ride around the yard, he is happy to hang out parked under a tree.  Just as long as his people are stick close by.  Then it won’t be too long before this bully is napping and snoring away in the summer breezes.

To see Dozer in another Parade look here.  This time he was invited by the Fire Department to ride along in a Tanker.  Very fitting if you ask me!
